Founded in 1972 by Paul and Sarah Howcroft in Skipton, Yorkshire, Rohan began with a simple philosophy: design clothing around real outdoor needs. Working closely with West Yorkshire textile mills, the brand quickly built a reputation for technical, lightweight garments suited to Britain’s varied climate.
One of Rohan’s early innovations — the Windlord Gwalhir Jacket — was worn by Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler during their historic oxygen-free ascent of Everest. From those pioneering beginnings, Rohan developed a reputation for functional, travel-ready clothing built for performance and durability.
Over 50 years later, the range now spans outdoor, travel and everyday clothing, combining technical fabric innovation with understated design.
